HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FINISH READING “THE FAULT IN OUR STARS” IF MY TEARS WON’T LET ME SEE?!!

May I recommend this excellent  The Fault in our Stars audiobook, read to you by John Green himself?
Not only will you be able to finish the book while your vision is blurred with tears, you will also be able to curse John as if he’s in the room with you!*
(Spoiler: John will remain completely unfazed and will keep reading.)

*You won’t be able to see John, as your eyes will be filled with tears. You will be able to distinguish blurry shapes at most. For maximum effect, get a life-size John Green cardboard cutout

“The Fault in our Death Stars”
So I had this idea ages ago, but I never really got started on it.Earlier this month, I finally did and it turned out great! :DSo I’m saving this graphic for May 4th, but now I find out #thefaultinourdeathstars is already a thing?!?
Oh well. I guess there’s little point in keeping it from you, then…
Anyway, I was on a roll, so this also happened:

John Green replaced by Darth Vader on the 4th May. I think I will wait for Tumblr to explode!!

Let’s have a closer look at Darth Vader’s author photo while we wait for that to happen, shall we? ^_^

Anyway, happy Star Wars Day, everyone! :)

THANK YOU

No one ever does is edited version. [x]

That Venn Diagram is also flawed, though.

It includes “Boys who don’t like smart girls” as a subset of “Boys who like smart girls” when they should be separate circles entirely.

The same goes for “Boys you don’t want to date” being a subset of “Boys you want to date.”

Thank you for your criticism.
The diagram is technically accurate. However, I will concede that the set of “boys who like smart girls” has been drawn poorly, as the corners almost meet at the bottom. You will see, however, that the yellow set loops around the blue and green sets. This is more clearly visible on the purple set, because it’s on the inside.

Representing the sets as separate circles entirely, as you suggest, would actually make this diagram more difficult to draw. Two circles can only touch in one point without overlapping. This would make it difficult to overlay the set of axe murderers. I could’ve made the sets full circles and crossed out any intersections that didn’t apply, but I feel that would not have served any purpose, not the accuracy, not the readability, nor the overal aesthetics.

“The Venn diagram of ‘boys who don’t like smart girls’ and ‘boys you don’t want to date’ is a circle.” -John Green (x)

Stating that the set of “boys you don’t want to date”  matches the set of “boys who don’t like smart girls” implies that the opposite is true: that you would want to date any boy who likes smart girls. (Because they’re contained within the set of boys, and the parameters are considered binary for the sake of being able to make a venn diagram.) But there are many possible reasons for not wanting to date certain boys, despite them liking smart girls. Axe murderers only serve as an example.

Presenting the evocative cover image for Rhidian Brook’s The Aftermath, out from Viking this May, and the bombed-out wreckage of Hamburg in 1945 which give the book its setting.

We have advance praise already from three great writers:  Sadie Jones says: ‘The Aftermath is a compelling, surprising and moving novel.’

Claire Messud calls it  ‘unsettling and compelling, suffused with suffering and, mercifully, some hope’ and Joseph O’Neill says ‘A moving, always enthralling journey into the dark and light of history. Rhidian Brook has written a brilliant novel.’

We have some bound proofs on hand for the lucky first five to reblog.
